Nice little recorder – I have wanted a wooden soprano recorder for a while. This is a definite improvement over the plastic one I’ve been playing. The tone is warm, and very pleasant.

Good tone – This recorder works very well for my 3rd grader’s music class. I love that is comes in a case, with a neck strap, cork wax, and a cleaning brush. It sounds nicer than plastic recorders (though it can still get loud, it’s not shrill). I’m not sure it’s concert quality (we’re all beginners here) but it certainly a nice recorder to learn on. Some of the lower notes are hard to hit, but I think that’s true of all recorders. It comes with a fingering chart. It has a nice natural wood finish. I just wish it didn’t say “Hixing” in big black letters across the front.
