Basically a toy – Though this six-pack is being sold as instruments for beginners, the truth is that these are basically toys – which shouldn’t be surprising, give the price.

Decent inexpensive set of six soprano recorders – This is a set of 6-pack 8 Hole Soprano Recorders. I have experience with wood recorders before, but this is more of a plastic type and very much lightweight. The sound is pretty crisp and clear, and the stick that comes with it works pretty well. The quality is not quite the same as the wooden recorders, but it is about $12 for six which comes out to be about $2 each. It is very much worth it to buy in bulk if you have multiple kids wanting to learn the recorder.

I’m going to be in trouble – There are 6 recorders in this order. Guess how many of my grandchildren will be together for Christmas? You got it – 6! I’m thinking their parents are not going to be very happy with me! I get to go home!

Step Above a Toy – Low quality step above toys these little recorders are a decent jumping off point for young children and early bird music students who want to develop woodwind skills. The recorders themselves are well made and come with cleaning rods like real flutes. They are a good back up tool to have when traveling and for music classes for young children.

Cheaply made – These recorders are more like a party favor than an instrument to learn on. They are so lightweight and thin and cheaply made it is almost laughable. When they say for beginners….yeah maybe to see if your child has any interest in it but not the best sound quality either. These were a pass for me.

Not school quality instruments – I am a music teacher.
