Poor craftmanship – Every piece is in Inferior quality. The bell should connect with the lower rod with a metal ring, which is missing (see Left picture). The ligature is too flimsy that it is already distorted on one side (see right picture). You need to watch out your hands for paper/metal cut with a ligature as thin as a slicer. The only part that seems to be sturdy is the carrying case. With close to $200, it is a joke and rip off. Returned immediately.

Inexpensive Clarinet – This inexpensive Clarinet seems to be sturdy and made well for the price. It comes with a storage bag, cleaning kit, the clarinet, reeds and gloves. I got this for a beginner player who is 10 years old so the high orchestra quality is not as necessary to me. It works fine for a beginner player/learner.

It has been said that if you learn to play a clarinet, learning to play a sax becomes a breeze… – Got this clarinet out of curiosity…When I was in my pre-teens, I tried to get accepted in a public music school because I was interested in learning sax…However, the school teacher stuck me to practice with a “tuba” (provided for free, I could not afford an instrument)…Just imagine a small kid as I was carrying that huge thing (of course I ended up giving up)…Well, my uncle (which have played guitars and all kind of percussion instruments for many groups including their own), mentioned me once that if I ever get serious about learning a wind instrument, to try a clarinet first because they were more difficult to learn, and then the sax would become easier. When I came across this, I remembered his words and decided to give it a try. I already have a sax, and it was true about the difficulty level. The “embouchure” of the clarinet seems to be a little different and in my case, I find it difficult to make a nice sound (bear in mind that I have never played a clarinet and I’m just learning the proper embouchure techniques). However, do not expect the best quality clarinet out there for the price, but keep in mind that fir a starter it is not a big investment to lose if you decide that it is not for you to learn this instrument. The instrument is easy to assemble provided that you coat the corks with balm. The clarinet itself is light, and feels like handling one of those “soprano” plastic flutes…The only thing I did not like is the metal part that holds the reed in place which seems cheap and flimsy…Other than that, it’s a fairly priced instrument for a begginer.
