      Smaller than I expected – Very cute and my kids love it, but I thought it would be larger.

      Would be great if not for use of horrible chemicals – I had to spend much time removing the fuel oil smell off this toy, which gets on your hands for hours after touching. I used hot water, no good. Finally some solvents, then deep washing, then drying – before I could think of allowing kids to touch it. Major fault of a really nice idea. Get a clue!

      Beats my more expensive temple blocks – I own the 4 and 6 and now 2″ wood frog guiros and love all of them. The 2 incher has the highest voice but, like the 4 incher, is pleasantly woody in tone and extremely resonant. Among the three, the 2″ has the most frog like “croak” when you stroke the stick across the bumps on the back.

      My music-loving partner thought this was brilliant! – I bought this as a gift for someone who loves music but didn’t even know these existed. There’s a nice video on youtube which shows you how to use it, which is nice because there isn’t any packaging to explain it. It has a lovely sound and does sound like a small frog. You can hit it in different locations for different effects. It works best when placed on a flat palm or a flat, soft surface (perhaps a tablecloth, etc.). It looks just like the picture (with variations in wood, of course) and fits in the palm of my hand.
