Beautiful sound, comfortable in your hand – As a first time spoons player, I bought both this pair of spoons and a more traditional type. The sound from the wooden bird spoons is far more pleasant! Also, these fit in the hand comfortably and are easy to maneuver. I highly recommend this pair over metal ones. Because their sound is lovely, I use them more often.

though my dog seems to love digging them out of my bag and chewing them … – I play these with an Irish folk group and have bought 5+ of them over the years. They have the widest range of tone you can get of all of the wooden spoon designs. Depending on how you hit the lower cup on your leg and the upper on your hand, you can vary how high/low the tone is. They do benefit from a rubber band wrapped a couple of times around to bring the cups closer together (ideal for me is a really thin gap). I’ve never had any break on me, though my dog seems to love digging them out of my bag and chewing them up (hence multiple purchases)

Don’t need music lessons to play these – My friend liked this so much I gave them to him. Has a really nice tone & lots of fun playing. Don’t have to be an expert. Just buy & start playing around with them, you’ll get the hang of it if you can carry a beat.

1 good, 1 not so good – I ordered 2 of these to replace one I had broken and have a spare. One was just like my old one, played easily and sounds good. The other had thicker arms, was very difficult to play, and did not sound very good. I sent that one back.

Unexpected – Beautifully made and sounding. I bring these to various music jams and people always love seeing, hearing, and playing them.

AWFUL! BROKE RIGHT AWAY! – Should’ve listened to the other reviews. Sadly, I took a chance and hoped that somehow the one I’d receive would be superior to the others. WRONG! I took it out of the bag…it was a beautiful piece of wood. I gently tapped it on my hand a few times. It sounded beautiful, but it quickly became a broken piece of junk. I knew to be easy with it because, first, many reviews mentioned how easily theirs broke, and second, I didn’t know how to use it so I wanted to research it before I really got into it. Never got that chance. It was broken within 2 minutes. I think it’s a great concept, and kudos to those who got one that lasts longer than mine did, but I honestly think it has a design flaw with some chintzy wood. It’s definitely going back… maybe I’ll try the metal kind instead. Good luck to anyone who buys this.

poorly made – Product seemed un-finished, with splinters of wood protruding from glued joint. I sent it back.

If its broke, fix it. Here’s how. Its simple. – This sounds great, work great, and breaks easily. I played it for a few day, dropped it, a d it broke as expected. But I liked it so much I fixed it so it is better now than ever. Here’s what I did. Its easy.
