Inexpensive travel starter kit for beginners – Seller was very responsive and very helpful in resolving my questions and issues.

    2. E. B (verified owner)

      – Molto carino, suono gradevole, accessoriato come da foto, non posso ancora valutare la tenuta dell accordatura perché arrivato da poco, è normale che all inizio le corde tendono a scordarsi subito, hanno bisogno di stare in tiro qualche giorno.

    3. T. E (verified owner)

Quality not as expected for the price paid. Update – Seller refunded the ukulele cost – The Quality not as expected for the price paid. We were very disappointed as the photos does not show the actual quality which is pretty cheap looking. Wanna return the product but the return shipping cost from Asia to USA is just too high as Amazon only covers approx. 40% of our return shipping cost.

So excited! It took more than one try, but I got a keeper! – I had been watching the price on this uke for months. Liked the package, versatility, and true all weather design. But compared to the competition, with over 1200 5 star reviews, and only $9 more, and this product with under 50 reviews, I decided to wait. Finally, a 40% off special! I jumped. I was very happy when I opened the box. The case is excellent! Thick padding, with 2 way zipper, PADDED and comfy backpack straps, and a small zippered pocket. The case has a sleek look. I unzipped it, and was thrilled! Ultra thin, white uke with a side sound hole. I can hear what I’m playing, without an amp! The cutaway looks and works great, and intonation registered well all the way up the neck! Its sturdy, but not heavy and is well balanced. Then I checked out the extras, saving the sound test for last. The usual cheap, but very handy tuner, xtra fishing line type strings, a package unneeded (for me, but can use on a guitar or baritone uke) picks, a wipe down cloth and a strap that is comfy and looks good. I was excited! I got the strap on. It took a bit of time, but I will never come off-unless maybe if I use the uke as a paddle which I seriously would do if needed, but it would affect both strap and tuner reliability. As soon as the strap was on, I was playing, but heard rattling! I found the nuts on the head stock were barely on. All were totally loose. Too tiny for fingers, I got a tool, tightened up, and played. This uke is not a wooden uke. Don’t expect a wooden $200 or up uke sound. It is quiet. Nice for me, as I can play if I can’t sleep, and not wake others. I was satisfied with the sound. But the best part for me was the fit of the neck in the hand! I wear woman’s small gloves. Have trouble finding ukes that are comfortable! This plays like butter! And I love the thin line body! It fit me very comfortably, with no pressure spot on my arm. The best of all worlds. So I waited for the strings to settle. I tuned 7-10x a day. Nothing settled. Then I noticed that the uppermost 2 tuners slipped. I could turn each up to a quarter turn, and no change in string tension. I got out a couple more tools. Tightened everything. That seemed to make things worse. Played daily, multiple times per day. It got even worse. Since the reviews didn’t match my experience, I read reviews that had dropped stars. Same issue. Problem tuners. $40 is $40, and unplayable is unplayable, but Amazon offered to send out a replacement, immediately. Why not? I loved everything, except the tuners and frustration, so I said yes. I was pretty sure it wasn’t me. I own 10 ukes, a ubass, and 2 guitars. The new uke arrived promptly. Same rattles on head stock, and this time, another issue I had read about in the reviews: string buzz. I knew I didn’t dare try to modify the bridge, and I packed it up, and sent it back. This sounds weird, but that uke really fit well in my fret hand and against my body. Ultra disappointed, and I’ve had to send back a uke priced at $500, of a very desired brand, but this I was more disappointed! Because of its playability, I was reaching for the this over my prettier wooden ukes, including my wooden “uke group” uke. A month later, I watched an e-acquaintance do a comparison video with this Donner and the competition. The competition uke was more expensive, case had one strap, and the uke was longer and not as thin line. Sound was louder, probably due to size difference, and more traditional. Tone sounded less plastic, but I’ve learned what a string change can do. I have a wooden, cheap uke, and put money into better stings. Now it sings! I still liked my Donner, and under his video, I commented on my experience, and that I wished I had kept the Donner and changed out the tuners! But the Donner was back to full price, so I guessed I would go with the competition. He commented back that the white Donner, my fave color of 4 choices, was now 60% off, making it $32!!! I ordered it, and put some tuners in my “save for later” cart. The new Donner arrived. I was as excited about everything, except the possibility that I might have another string buzz (second uke). The nuts on the tuners were rattling. I left my tools in their case. Tested for buzz. None! Played it hard. Still no buzz! Played up and down the neck with a better tuner. Intonation was correct. Playability was perfect! Did a live play along. The rattle stopped. Yes, I had to tune after every song for first 5 days, but the more I tuned, the nuts rattled less. 6 days out, the uke was staying in tune! I kept it next to the bed, so checked multiple times a night. Panicked when New England weather was 84F during day, then frost advisories at night. Tuning was suddenly all over the place, but so it was on all my ukes. Phew! And no turning the knobs and feeling gears slipping without making a change in tension. I’ve had it 20 days or so and am now a very satisfied customer. I’m as thrilled as when I bought the first one. Play it every day, and my hand is so comfortable. It finger picks as well as it strums. It can be left out in its stand or on the couch, because the pets can’t harm it. It can go to the beach, because the tuners r sealed and sand is not going to hurt it. The only odd thing is that they put the side fret marker for fret #10 at #9. I do use side markers up the neck, but after having 3 of these, I’ve got muscle memory and know to go one fret up. But if it was an issue, I could see trying white out or white paint, and then use indelible marker to add the dot. I can’t help but wonder if I hadn’t tightened the nuts on the first uke’s tuners, if that one would have gotten better with time, but none of my other stringed instruments have had nuts so loose they rattled at the start. I do know that the first 2 came like that, and tightening didn’t work. So this time, I didn’t touch them, and for whatever weird reason, it turned out OK. If that changes, I will update. There was also a warranty card with the uke, but if it doesn’t work right out of the box, I send it back.

    7. S. K (verified owner)

Wonderful product for beginners – The sound is okay, maybe it will grow on me. But, the tuner is EXCELLENT, the best I’ve ever used. Which is great because cheaper ukes often go out of tune — often! I adore the color I got (neon green), and the gig bag that matches. An extra set of strings, some picks…great value!
