Good bargain buy for beginners – I played clarinet years ago in high school and wanted to start playing again. I decided to get a cheap, beginner clarinet. I have had this clarinet about a week now. Out of the box, all parts were present and intact- there is some tarnish already on a few spots, but nothing that effects the playing ability. It came with everything listed; however I did not realize until it arrived that cork grease does not come with it! An instrument that has been sitting in a warehouse for a while with corks drying out definitely needs the corks greased before first assembly. I made do with some lip balm and immediately ordered the grease (lip balm is not recommended-use only as a last resort!). Another oddity is that even though this is listed as a beginner clarinet, it comes with three 2.5 reeds. Beginners should start with a softer reed. Plus, one of the reeds was already attached to the mouthpiece, resulting in it being warped and unusable. It does play well and has a decent sound. If you need a starter clarinet, I recommend this one- just make sure to order cork grease along with it.

Perfect beginner clarinet – update with issues – I purchased this clarinet for my daughter to learn on. She’s 9 and will be joining the school band this year. I’ve played clarinet for over thirty years and have instructed many children on learning the clarinet. We have only had this clarinet today so I cannot comment on it’s durability, but here are my initial thoughts:

Great option for beginners. – UPDATE: After looking over the clarinet, I realized that one of the pads on the keys was not fully covering the hole, and the air was leaking. By the time this happened, we were outside the return window. I contacted the seller, and they responded very quickly. They sent me links to instructions on how to repair the problem. I was actually able to fix the problem, and my son has not complained about the clarinet. His teacher says that he has good tone when we plays. This was definitely a good purchase. It lasted the semester that we needed it to, the sound quality is good and it was way cheaper than renting or buying a clarinet from the localisoc store. Perfect for beginners.

Good for Beginners – All-in-all good quality for a beginner. The stand leaves a bit to be desired, but for the price it’s cheaper to buy then to rent
