Great for Live Jams – I have had 8 Hohner melodicas and I play them hard live and they usually go out of tune in a year or so. This has exactly the same plastic mold case as the Hohner but it seems the reeds might be a little stronger . At first it has a sound that is a little harsher and louder but I think that will mellow out with time. It is great so far and we’ll see how long it goes before the tuning slips.

Nice Melodica – Full disclaimer, I really purchased this for the case so that I would have a nice case for the Roland Aerophone Mini wind instrument. The cost for just a case was very close to the price of this melodica with a case. Since I also play keyboard instruments, I thought just buy the case and instrument. When watching reviews of melodicas online and reading Amazon reviews, I learned of tuning issues. The tuning for this melodica is not perfect, but it is good and acceptable. Most notes are on pitch or very nearly. Only a couple are off by much. It seems to play easily and have decent response with both soft and loud volumes (shallow and hard breathing). This will be a fun addition to my collection of instruments.

For the love of music – Wonderful instrument. It came with extra tube and mouth peices as well as cloth for keeping it clean. My son plays it everyday and has fun finding new songs to play on it. Best thing is it doesn’t need batteries. Great for learning how to utilize breathing skills.

My son loves this – My son is not a toddler. He’s a teenager who learned to play piano as a pre-teen. I got this for him and he got a real kick out of it. No batteries is a real plus! The extended tubes lets him put the keyboard on the table so he can use both hands. The volume is perfect and the sound is very nice. Like an accordion actually. This isn’t really a toy although any child will enjoy it. It’s well built. So don’t be afraid to give it to someone who likes to play music for fun. For the price, it was a great gift.
