Having great fun with my recorder! – I’m an ex-ukulele player, and I was a very mediocre one at that, I admit. I have no musical background (or talent in that area) and can’t read a lick of music. I also don’t sing well, which is what you want to do with a uke. So, I traded it in for this sweet little recorder. I can’t sing while playing, which is a benefit. I bought a book to try to learn the recorder notes, but got kind of frustrated. So, I just started playing and composing my own songs and am having the best time!! I feel like I’m being creative and the sound is lovely! So, now I feel like a composer/musician and I am enjoying it just playing to my heart’s content.

Great beginner instrument – I purchased this for myself as my daughter is learning recorder and it’s easier for me to teach and her to learn by me showing instead of just talking. It’s made well and sounds great. My only complaint matches the others: the storage box is terribly difficult to open. As it’s for me, not a child, I’m simply dealing with it but a child would definitely not be able to open it.

Great for hobbyists and beginners alike. – For the twenty bucks I paid for mine, it is really great! Obviously, it isn’t the same as one of the professional grade sweet flutes that run into the hundreds as far as cost, but this ‘cheap’ one plays beautifully. It is a richer sound than the plastic versions. I had to adjust to playing the wood when I dropped into f4, but once I mastered it, the note was as lovely as the rest. I am glad I bought this one. I am still a beginner, so this is perfect for me to practice and hone my skills. Plus, if my kids or my dog did something to it someday, it would not be too devestating since it was inexpensive. A good investment for hobbyists and beginners. 🙂
