Noticeably Cheap – I bought this snare drum because the wires on my 12″ snare broke and I could not find replacement snare wires. Also was on a budget. Buying this snare drum was a mistake. At first, this snare drum sounded fine, but after a while, I started to hear decay in the sound. When I hit this drum the sound rings. Drums are not supposed to have ringing sounds. Without the decay, I could give the sound quality 3 stars, but because of the decay, I would rate the sound quality 1 star. I hate the ringing decay sound this snare drum has. The worst part is, the decay gets worse over time. Another problem is that the head this snare dum comes with is made of plastic. The head sounds cheap. The funny thing is this drum sounds better with the snares off, and even then it still sounds bad. One thing I do like is that you get a drum key, for tuning and changing the head(s), in the box. This snare drum is cheap, and it is noticeable.
