Difficult for advanced and expert players to use – This keyboard isn’t weighted. That means the slightest tilt of a finger will cause a random key to play. If you use music sheets (like me) this will annoy you because instead of focusing on the music notes you have to worry about the weight of your hand/fingers. I only see this not being a problem if you’re around 3-10 years old. Everyone else will have to spend more time trying to make sure their hands hover above the keys. If you’re a new beginner or just a casual player then this won’t be too bad since songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star won’t require precise technique. However, if you’re serious about playing (anything classical or Taylor Swift) then this might hinder your progress or deter you from practicing altogether. I’ve underestimated the power of weighted keys… next time I’ll just spend the extra money and invest in one.

87-almost-88 seniors beware: Electronics involved! – I’ve been a musician all my life, mostly guitar, and trying my hand at the piano, not knowing how to read a note of music. I bought this keyboard just to tinker with, to glean any kind of music from it that I could. It has not exceeded my expectations nor has it failed its purpose.

Decent but some unexpected cons – Overall for the price I’m satisfied with this purchase. However, there are some unexpected cons. First there is only one actual piano sound in all of the 104 pre-programmed instrument sounds that the keyboard can make. That was unexpected and I would have thought there would be at least two or three different types of piano options (maybe keyboard, electric piano, and concert piano?) I mean, this thing has bagpipes, bones, and an accordion on the list and addition to a bunch of really obscure stuff but they couldn’t include more piano options? Odd. Next, it’s pretty loud even on the lowest setting. However, there is the option of plugging in headphones and so that’s one way to deal with it but I’d prefer not to wear headphones all the time if I don’t have to. There’s also no setting that I have been able to find that would act like a sustain pedal when you hit the notes which makes whatever you play sound a bit choppy. I also have to say that the enclosed booklet was pretty light on details considering all of the various buttons and programming options that you have. The upside is that there are so many different options and I do look forward to exploring my way through those, I just don’t love the fact that I have to go digging around on the internet to find that information when a printed booklet enclosed with the item would have been much more helpful and efficient for me. I also have to say that the microphone that comes with it is not good. It’s probably fun for children to play with and so I guess that’s the point of its existence but honestly it is a tragically bad microphone. Now, all of that being said? For the money this is a totally usable keyboard experience if you are just trying to learn very basic things or just wanted something to have around for fun.

Very nice keyboard! – I’ve only had it for a day so I can’t speak on the quality over long terms but so far it’s a great product. It’s quite large but surprisingly lightweight and high quality, there are over a hundred instrument sound options which is a good thing except that a lot of them sound too similar and there’s an annoying lack of other piano sounds, I was hoping for more diversity when it came to that but what you get is good for a beginner keyboard. It’s also very loud and it doesn’t remember what volume setting it was set to before it’s powered off so when you turn it on again it’s very loud and you have to change the volume to your liking everytime you use it. It has flaws of course but overall it’s a good purchase and I would recommend for anyone that wants to learn to play!
