Can’t Beat It – Great Deal. But as most know, you will need to have a mouthpiece that gets the clarinet up to pitch. I have a pro mouthpiece, and it is the key to getting the potential out of the instrument. Understandably, the price for this is less than the cost of a pro mouthpiece- a cheap pro mouthpiece is $75. That will not be the route for most, and if it is, it would still be difficult to find one that is suited to the individual player. You can spend lots of money on expensive mouthpieces that don’t work for you. I have had a drawer full of pro alto sax mouthpieces for example. Most will try to find an inexpensive non-pro mouthpiece. I can’t say I’ve tried these recently, but Hite Premier, Yamaha 4C are in the under $30 range usually.
