Such a sweet intrument – I love this product. I’ve been obssessed with it and practice every morning while I have my coffee. I’ve been wanting a kalimba for years. This was a highly recommended product from a YouTube video I watched. The product came fast and safe. It comes with the hard case, soft bag, tuning hammer, tine stickers, a stand, and a cleaning brush and cloth. This is the most accessories I’ve seen available to purchase with the kalimba itself. I think it’s well worth the money.

Wonderful beginner instrument, beautifully crafted – I’m a novice when it comes to instruments, but I’ve picked up the kalimba pretty quickly. I put a lot of research into best practices (and makers) for the kalimba before buying, and I am glad I went with QT, as many reviewers suggested them. This might be one of the priciest kalimbas of this type (hollow-bodied), but the craftsmanship make the purchase worthwhile. This particular set also comes with a ton of extras that are quite nice–not cheap “freebies”, but actual useable items, like the stand, carrying case, and standard tuning implements. I used the booklet and suggested tuning app to get started, and it was all incredibly intuitive and fun. And it sounds SO beautiful. I love it.

Lightweight and excellent tines–best one I tried! – This is a beautiful kalimba. I thought I would learn how to play the kalimba this summer, and I tried several different models. This was my absolute favorite of the ones I tried. It is a hollow, lightweight kalimba with tines that are slightly larger than some I had seen elsewhere. The engraved note names are easier for nearsighted people like me to see. The tines felt great to play, and the highest E tine actually worked! (The highest D was a little stiff, but not as bad as on others, and it still sounded). The kalimba also arrived in tune–I didn’t have to do anything to it! For the short time that I played, this was my go-to kalimba.

Definitely recommend, but that darn G* – This is all-around a lovely kalimba. It has good solid craftsmanship and I think it is probably one of the cutest and most unique hollow kalimbas you can buy. And WOW the booklet it comes with is remarkable because it comes with really detailed instructions and tons of great songs to get you started. I would buy this kalimba specifically to have the booklet. Compared to my other hollow kalimba, this one is LOUD which I like. The one thing that bothers me is the G* tine tends to go dead occasionally. It seems ok when it’s perfectly in tune but sometimes things like humidity, moving the tine around, or the passing of time can slip it out of tune and the tine goes dead again. The D** and E** tines (which are the two highest) don’t resonate very well either but I wouldn’t necessarily say they are “dead tines” since it seems normal for higher notes not to resonate as well on hollow kalimbas. It’s still a wonderful instrument and I would definitely recommend buying.
