Great for kids – I bought this one first for my daughter. I’d never heard of them or seen them before and Amazon showed this after we bought some other toy, and we knew instantly that we had to get this. I think schools should have these for young kid’s music classes. What a fun, easy way to introduce music to kids! I went on to buy 2 more other ones for my other kids and they really like them. I am bitter about having to take years of piano lessons when I was child and hated it, so I haven’t pressured my kids on music at all…..but, this is a fun introduction to music and just something fun to pick up and use once in a while. It actually sounds so beautiful, the sound coming through the floor when my girls are playing it in their room above. My 4 year old loves that it comes with a hammer! Now, that is a good musical instrument, he thinks!

Nice quality – This instrument is made of nice, smooth, lightweight wood and has a delicate angelic sound. The tines are easy to press and my son and daughter-in-law love playing it even though I got it for my 14 year old grandson who likes it but would rather just play video games.

Pleasantly surprised About my Kalimba! – I must say I love my Kalimba! I did buy it without knowing how to play it or even knowing that much about it. All I knew is that it sounds great and it’s easy to learn. So far I know how to play about 7 different songs from both the book that it comes with and music I have found online.

Perfectly easy to pick up, perfectly hard to master – This kalimba is well made, the wood is good quality, and it came well tuned for instant use. I love mine a lot. It’s perfect for someone who wants an easy to pick up instrument so you don’t need years of practice before you see progress, but also not something that you can just instantly master so it leaves plenty of room for growth. I really cannot express enough of how satisfied I am with mine. This one, being a box kalimba, has a louder sound than a flat board kalimba, but it does have stiffer tines at the end so the notes don’t ring as long. But I haven’t found a problem with that at all so far.
