Poor Resonance and QA – Arrived slightly out of tune and with some tines crooked (but I’m willing to attribute that to someone tossing the box around during shipping)

If you’re not musicians, any kinds of Kalimbas can be hard – Come on, people. Violins, flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, and Pianos all need a regular tuning. Do you think this little instrument will be different? Especially, this is wooden that easily gets affected by weather? During the delivery, the hot/humid weather can definitely affect it a lot on this small instrument. Definitely, It’s a non-sense for people wining for tuning. Even if you get something (somehow) that is perfectly tuned, it’s never gonna be sustained like that forever.

Pleasing sound! – Some musical instruments when practice on by kids, the sound gets on a persons nerves! But this little guy is not only fun to plink around with yourself, it’s not so loud that your teeth rattle either when kids play on it. The numbering helps learn the notes too. Youtube has several videos if you want to hear the pleasant sounds it can make with knowing thumbs, just search for “Kalimba”.

Returned The Item 4/25, But No Refund Yet – The item was a gift, but someone else had already bought one for the person, so I had to return it. It really is lovely, though. Nicely made, and the sound is enjoyable. But…..where is my refund?!

Praying I can Do it Justice.. It’s So Beautiful – Hopefully I can Learn from the Song Book and Play some Christmas Songs.. Might have to get a few as Gifts too..

Gift for Granddaughter – This was a Christmas gift for my then 12-year-old granddaughter. It is a beautiful instrument. Unfortunately, she didn’t take to it, though she tried, which is a big surprise because she writes her own music and lyrics, and I thought this would catch her fancy. I am disappointed, but she still has it in a closet and maybe one day she’ll reach for it.

Kalimba – The Kalimba have good Sound the spacers are a good addition to it. The thing I don’t like about this Kalimba is that the lower Note Keys are Mute when i play the instrument on low Notes just like another one i have from another Brand i thought this will could’ve been different but it’s the same in that part of the keys.

While both sound beautiful, my husband chose to use this one. This Kalimba, although not heavy, is definitely sturdier than our other choice. He says it just feels good in his hands, very comfortable and natural. Also the two-toned case, along with the etched design, makes this a very beautiful instrument.
