Dented, but works – I recently joined the Honor Guard for the sheriff’s officer I wotk for and found that we have no one to play Taps live at funerals. I decided the try to learn and present this skill to the sergeant once I am good enough. This bugle came with multiple dents all over, but it works fine. I didn’t expect much more for the price. When I can play better, I’ll invest in a better bugle.

Ok to play, difficult to play really well. – Smaller than I was expecting, but it can make notes. It’s like a piccolo trumpet as compared to a regular trumpet. The pitch is much higher than a standard bugle for bugle calls. My lips are horribly out of shape, so intonation isn’t exactly great in that range. With some practice I could see this being fine for what it is, an inexpensive bugle for summer camp or scouts. I don’t think I would attempt to play taps at a funeral with it though.

not a good purchase – another poor purchase, a heavy duty kid’s toys. My mistake, not reading description details ..theres no Reed in it to make sound,so how can it be B flat,its a brass colored curly straw, it make a better funnel. Only 12 inches long,.ok for a decoration
