Lovely sound – Very nice sound. Not obnoxiously loud. Difficult to play tunes because notes are not in order and there’s only one octave with no sharps or flats. Toddler likes to play it very much. Very attractive and sturdy.

Well made, limited use – I wanted this to figure out how this instrument sounded, and this was a good initial experience. It is fairly small, is well made, and has good acoustics. Nevertheless, it seems like something you gift a child. Not too many noises can be created, but I should have expected this from its lower price. If you want to use this as an instrument, maybe get a bigger one!

Wow, beautiful sound! – I can’t say enough about this drum. It has the most beautiful sound. My kids really like playing it. I put it in their room when they are having “quiet time” or “calm down” time or right before bed and they love playing it. It has such a mellow and relaxing sound, anyone can play it, it’s so simple. The mallets it comes with are very nice and work well or just play it by tapping lightly with your hands. I loved that the drum comes with a book of easy songs to play and a very nice and sturdy carrying and storage case. I would HIGHLY recommend getting this drum, it’s one of our very favorite items and anyone would feel so lucky to receive it as a gift.

Great for a child with disabilities – My grandson has physical and mental disabilities, so buying toys and gifts is very challenging. The video is what sold me – the sounds of the drum are calming and might be calming for him too. He was able to hold the drum sticks and make his own music and was engaged with the music created by others. He put his face close to the drum to feel the vibrations. We were all happy to see him having fun and doing something by himself.

Smaller than expected – I watched a video where somebody played this with their fingertips and thought that made it very portable and I liked that. This one however you need to use the mallets or it makes no sound. There are little rubber tipped bands to go around your fingertips that are supposed to work but I have not been able to make them work. I will use the mallets with it though most definitely I love the sound
