perversely difficult for my intermediate ability – Beethoven dedicated this sonata to the countess guicciardi and proposed marriage to her. the marriage did not take place – no doubt because she tried to play the sonata. often, my small hands and stubby fingers cannot reach beyond the octave required nor depress all the keys without having to break the chords. it’s in C sharp minor with 4 accidentals and liberal use of the raised 7th, lots of notes in unfamiliar territory south of the bass clef. you get a tiny bit of deceptive relief in the allegretto, but do not be deceived, the following soul crushing presto will leave you empathetic to those who have taken solo journeys round the world, people who’ve lost everything on the stock market, those stranded at altars, people who looked for paper towel in march of 2020, people who’ve never had an adorable pet, etc. the fact though that it’s from you and your piano that that incredible sound is coming from, the affect of those tear duct swelling chords are inspiring – but I can’t help feeling it’s a Lucy/Charlie Brown football kind of thing.

Beethoven’s most Beautiful and romantic sonata – I like all of it. Starts off easy, the last movement is a little tougher but it’s all arpeggios. Another learning piece for intermediate to advanced stufents

One of greatest composers Beethoven composed this piece and it is a great piece to play. If you’re interested in playing the Moonlight Sonata, I’d recommend purchasing this edition as it is a great deal!

Received in great condition!! – The introductory portion of the composition has instructions on how to practice this music. It was written by one of Beethoven’s students!! I’m so glad I found this book. Most classical music books only give you the first movement. This has all three movements.
