Has been helping – My child is currently taking piano lessons and since we don’t have a piano or the money for one, their instructor suggested a keyboard. With this keyboard, it’s been helping them figure out where the keys are and associate them with the piano that they play on. While there are several different setting on this keyboard, it’s been really helpful for them to not only practice their music but used used to which note is what and really just how to play. While there are times they will goof off on it, this keyboard is really helpful. I was even able to play with it and found it to be really fun too. This does come with a strap so they can take it really anywhere with them and while it does have some weight to it, it’s not overly heavy or too bulky for them.

more than a toy, but not a pro keytar – fun little keytar, obviously takes after the Roland Lucina… lots of tones, lots of rhythms, I like the drum mode, very light, the delay is fun but it unfortunately changes tempo (slows down) if you play more than 3 or 4 notes—sustain bar is not a true hold, just enables the normal fast-decaying sustain… microphone is not loud enough compared to instrument sounds to be useful, tone and beat selection buttons make no sense, speakers are very loud but distort above half volume, and plastics feels brittle and cheap—mine came with a crack on the back of the sustain / handle area

It is nice and portable for them to carry around easily and functions without being plugged in too. The keyboard comes with a strap for wearing it like a keytar, and a sustain button made for use with the hand. It has an internal battery that is rechargeable and can last 8 hours on a single charge. It has so many different tones to choose from, 200 in all. There also 200 built in rhythms and 50 demo songs. My kids took right to the controls, so they are intuitive with out them needing to pick up the manual. If they want to play quietly, it does have a headphone jack for listening, though the headphones are not included. There is a microphone jack and microphone for them to sing along. They are enjoying playing with this keyboard, it is lots of fun.
