Challenging to play, but authentic – Manage your expectations. The ability to get a good tone out of one of these is a thing people brag about, and it does take a little practice. If you can play a trumpet or trombone, you’ll get this relatively quickly, but it will take a bit of practice before it’s just blowing. However, I did practice for a while and now I can play a clear high and low note.

I would not call this an instrument – I understand that these are natural horns and each of them is unique however mine came with holes and cracks that impact the sound drastically.

Took a risk, was well pleased! – I have never owned a shofar, and didn’t know what to expect or who to buy from. This product is very nice! It is polished and even for a smaller horn, it is a nice size. It does have a smell, but tolerable. Don’t figure any other animal horn would smell much better.
