This is great – It’s great ,a couple problems but l fixed them for 43 bucks

Not bad – This can help train your lips. But the way the holes are placed would create bad habits for actual sax. But that’s a matter of discipline.

Crappy – This is a price of crap. I had to return his international postage which was 3/4 of the purchase price.

Great gift! – I gave this to someone who used to play a reed instrument back in the day. They were rusty at first and then the magic started to happen once again. Priceless!!!!

Absolute garbage. – Been playing woodwinds for 20 years with alto and tenor sax being my main instruments. Tested this with multiple mouthpieces, reeds and ligatures and nothing will make this sound even remotely good.

Easy and great quality – Made nicely and sounds wonderful. Easy to learn to play watching you tube tutorials for beginners. This was a gift my husband’s first one and in 3 days he was playing music.

I would not consider this a beginner instrument – Of course this is just my opinion as I am not a professional nor even a true amateur sax player, but I have been playing a few wind instruments over the years and while this is not terribly complicated, if I were to recommend something to a beginner, it would not be this! Recorder maybe…something that could lead to this, or if someone who plays a larger wind instrument that isn’t always easy to carry with them, then this instrument might be good for a practice piece to pack in luggage when they are on the go and their full-size instrument might take up too much space. As for me, I found it interesting to play, but at the moment, I’m stuck on a Roland Aerophone, but of course, even purchasing that as a refurbished unit, it was quite a bit more than this mini-sax. All I can say is that each person trying it will have their own opinions on how it feels in their hands, how easy it is to make sound with it and whether they like the sound they are able to produce with it. I think it is a decent little practice piece, not truly a beginner’s instrument.
