Decent for an intro to Tongue Drums – I’m guessing there’s a reason that most of the quality tongue drums have a fraction of the notes. Not all notes are in-tune with each-other, which makes it grating when playing certain melodies that would sound good on a different instrument. The notes that are in-tune, especially the mid and higher register notes, sound really quite good. I think it is a good value overall, but if you are looking for a studio-quality tongue drum I would suggest looking elsewhere.

More awesome than I anticipated! – It is visually stunning and all my notes sound perfect (to me, a musical novice). In less than 5 hours I can play a song (figured out the notes by ear, with harmonies), I’m sure other people could cut that time in half

Beautiful sound – This little drum has excellent sound quality, and the stickers with the letter names of the notes are helpful in learning how to play it. The stickers can be easily removed when they are no longer needed. It arrived quickly, and in excellent condition. I’m very pleased to have such a lovely percussion instrument.

It is a good place to start if you are clueless about a this kind of drum. – It sounds very pretty but 2 of the higher notes do not sound much at all. The carrying case zipper one side was broke. But I can still use it. The drum works for what I bought it for. To use to just relax and play while I meditate. I would call it a very nice toy. I did think it is prettier than I expected it to be. I do love the way it looks. If you wanted to buy a drum and have never had or seen one, it is a good place to start and see if you want to spend money for a better one.

Recommend purchasing yarn wrapped mallets as well – Great quality starter hand pan/rav drum. Carrying case has handles and a shoulder strap, which is really a great detail. I purchased some marimba mallets as well bc I like the softer/muted sound. Mallets that are included are soft silicone but they are a bit small, just FYI.
