Nothing fancy – This comes in a plain flat cardboard box. The chimes are attached to the wood by string. There are holes drilled into the wooden bar with labels of A on one side and B on the other. There are two metal legs labeled A and B. You insert the legs into the matching holes to set it up. There are no instructions, but pretty easy to figure out with the A and B stickers. No pictures on the box. So, when giving as a gift you will need to assemble and pack accordingly so that the recipient does not have to receive a plain box and have to assemble. There is no mallet to “play” the chime. It is for use with your hand or with a fan for a windchime.

Sounds great – Well, the sound of these chimes is great and I use them a lot, but they aren’t as sturdy as I would have liked. For one the legs don’t stay in the holes and it’s not stable. The legs turn when you move it and the bead that’s welded between the arms of each leg broke the weld almost as soon as I inserted the legs into the holes.

Bad table legs – The chime part of these table chimes are great. The legs? Not so much. I returned my first one because the metal leg supports were so bent out of shape the chime couldn’t stand straight on the table. It wobbled back and forth and stood at a crooked angle, and the metal legs are too strong to try to bend to straighten things out. The replacement (which was shipped quickly) was 50% better. It still is wobbly and the legs aren’t bent correctly, meaning it’s a little askew and the table legs aren’t lined up together, but it’s not as unstable as the first one. I decided to keep it since it’s still decently priced and I didn’t feel I was going to get a good one the third time around.
