Worth waiting for ! – I have been trying to get a copy of this book for a few years now. I am delighted to say that I have recently received a copy in mint condition. In forty years of playing and twenty four years of teaching guitar and Music (you know ? – the language), I have only seen one other book which equals this one.

  2. K. C (verified owner)

Continuation of Volume 1 – This is the second part of Ted Greene series on single note soloing.

Top notch lessons by a master! – Unbelievable value by a master. You learn to read, and know the fingerboard at all its positions. Your learn chord scale relationships. It develops ear to fingerboard relationship. The lick exercises are actually very useful and inspiring licks. I’m almost thru the entire book. About a month now and I really feel my reading chops are much better. Its easy to read because the licks are not rhythmically challenging. The focus is on the playing the right notes with a chord and flow of the line. Introducing too much rhythmic intereste would make learning more difficult. You can always introduce more complex rhythmic phrasing after you’ve learned which notes you want to play. You also get the theory and great explanations

A chemist bag of secrets – Is rare in history for genius excelling in their artist field to exceel also as great teachers/communicators of their knowledge. Ted’s unique approach and self made discoveries, are fully available at their best and in depht, throught his well tested 4 methods. All served with a humbly positive humorous approach to learn play guitar. He’s will forever stay as our eternal Chord Chemist. Thanks Mr. Greene.

Ted Greene Vol 2 – Being interested in learning how to play jazz guitar I read the reviews of Ted Greene’s book on Amazon. I was somewhat disappointed in the content. There is a lot of arpeggio material covered. I understand how these cam become building blocks for improvisation. However, I felt there was too much emphasis on this. I did find most helpful the material on phrasing. I will also add that unless you can read music and know theory this book will be overwhelming. There is no tab. I know other reviewers say this book is fantastic. Maybe they were able to glean more out of the material than I could.

absolute must have. – buy this and you won’t be sorry. written by one of the greatest jazz guitarists you may, or may not, have heard of. I own several of Ted’s books and can attest to their thorough discussion of the topic and clear layout. Over the years, I’ve purchased many books by other famous guitarists and virtually always have been disappointed in their explanations or inability to elaborate on “why” something works. That’s why this book and his others are so valuable.
