Unnecessary page turns make it impractical as a music book – Fine piano arrangements of the major themes, but I have a huge problem with books like these. Why must the publishers put so few measures per page? This illogical spacing means that a piece that shouldn’t be more than a page long takes up three or four pages. Page turns are difficult for this hot-glue bound book, which is stiff and difficult to flatten in the first place (I have to use a plumb bob weight to hold the pages down). It’s as if this book was designed assuming that most people who bought it would never actually use it to make music. And perhaps that’s correct. Perhaps most people who buy this buy it for the souvenir/collectible value. I don’t know. I actually want to use it.

Great for semi-beginners – My son had been playing the piano for a year or so and was bored with the typical learning stuff so his teacher said they could try this. It really rejuvenated his interest in the piano and made it fun to play.

Great music – My 8 year old daughter just discovered the wonderful world of Harry Potter. She’s been taking piano lessons for about 2 years and was so excited to get this piano book. She can play most of the songs with some practice- so it’s a good, manageable challenge for her.
