Unique sound and worth the money – These are different. They have a much bigger and chunkier sound. Never thought about this until I came across it on Amazon. I am used to playing with your standard fare of maracas and this was a little bit more than I was thinking I was going to get. The beads are nice and have a good crunch against the plastic shells. That said, the fill inside of these maracas gets lost against the beads on the outside. I took off the beads for this pair of maracas and liked the more subtle fill alone and put the beads on another pair of plastic maracas thathave a louder fill and it is a very unique sound. I noticed someone else did the same where they prefer the sound of the maracas without the beads. Regardless of my configuration, I am happy with this purchase and it was worth the money.
